About the role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for business development in the assigned territory of brokers, agents, and other distribution partners, focused primarily on Chubb’s products and services associated with Small Commercial, Middle Market and Financial Lines business.

Responsibilities

  • Develops tactical sales plan to achieve annual objectives
  • Generates opportunities to acquire new business
  • Builds relationships with key partnerships
  • Manages pipeline of key customers
  • Serves as point of contact and relationship manager
  • Works closely with commercial underwriting staff
  • Ensures that products/services are competitively positioned
  • Manages assigned workload to meet internal productivity and timely service standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years underwriting and/or Broker/Agent sales experience
  • College degree or equivalent business experience
  • CPCU or CIC recommended
  • Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, and negotiation skills
  • Authoritative knowledge of all Chubb commercial coverages, products, services, and liabilities
